Gardel's heart-shattering "The Words That Remain" detail an elderly man learning to read and write so he can finally read a letter given to him from a young love after they were torn apart by their families because both of them were men. I loved how the book escalates into these long, meandering stream of thought moments deep within Raimundo. It is packed full of so much nuance and humanity. A tragedy with a powerful development.
